Bowling Green 72 South Warren 64

Featured Replies

South Warren trailed by 23 midway through the third, and cut it all the way to four on two occasions. They had the ball under their own basket down by that amount, but Bowling Green forced them into an utterly terrible shot.

The loss locks South Warren into the 4/5 game.

That game got intense in a hurry in the 4th south has to pick up the pace they do not play well running halfcourt offense and it couldn’t hurt for the coach to pick up his players he gave up in the first half took the life out of the boys thats my opinion What got them going is when the intentional foul was called on one of the south players on mason on a fast break

Jace carver had 26 in the 2nd half

I think if south can get going from the Tip they can play with anyone in the region it’s the holes they dig is what is hurting them

Turned out that it was actually a 27 point deficit at one point. It was an incredibly impressive comeback attempt.

I've mentioned this year that South is very dangerous. There isn't a true "easy-out" in the 14th District semifinals. Warren East would seem to be, but they are likely going to lose to South in the 4/5 game. Playing South Warren at home is obviously going to be tough as well. They lost by only five to Central there, and now by eight to Bowling Green. The Spartans are going to be at a bit of a disadvantage on short rest, as they'll have played in the 4/5 game on Monday ahead of the game against the 1 seed. How short, we'll see. When they played at South in 2015, it was two days rest, and it was the same the following year at BG. The last three years, the next game took place the next day.

Interesting thing several people noticed for BG was Cooper held Carver to 4 points in the 1st half. Carver got a difficult, contested shot on Cooper then the coach switches him off of him. Then he scores BIG. That exact thing is what’s hindering BG. They make the wrong adjustments. Same thing in the WC game. Boyd scores 20 pts in the 3rd quarter on the Bank’s kid and never made a change at all. You could hear in the stands several assistant coaches trying to change things up but their head coach wouldn’t. The chess game is not in BG’s favor. Silly decisions being made keeps putting them in a dog fight at the end of the game! Interesting post season coming up!

Carver can take cooper of the dribble they just got the wind knocked out of him clubb tried to bring in different face once to rattle carved it didn’t work

This year tournament gonna be good south warren fans ain’t the normal fans they are too laid back and don’t root on unless it’s at the end these boys just Like a lot of then feed off enery

If Carver could take Cooper off of the dribble.. he should have. I think Cooper is quicker than Carver for sure. Carver has his length to shoot over him tho. That definitely would’ve got them going that first half.

That was my point.. why did Clubb try to bring in a new face to rattle him. He really wasn’t a factor at that point. Once defensive personal changed.. Carver got going. All good players are going to find a way to make a few shots. The key is not letting them get in their groove. Again, BG didn’t adjust, we stayed with the mismatch. Should’ve put Cooper back on him. Plus the mismatch started fouling him and putting him at the free throw line. Didn’t happen first half.

All teams definitely feed off of the energy from the students/fans. Always nice to have a big crowd.

Post season should be fun and interesting!
