mcpapa
Final. One of Illinois' assistant coaches was on hand tonight. MC- Miller 18, punctuated with a reverse slam in the 3rd quarter, Setty 14, Scott 13 (for the third game in a row), Middleton 10, Pawsat 5, King 4, Stahl 8, Tolle 3, Downing 4, Thompson 3, Hamm 1. All 11 Royals scored tonight. 33-55 from the field tonight for 60%; better than their free-throw shooting (13-23). Lots of PT for the reserves tonight, as should be in a lopsided contest. BC led by Koons with 10, Wigglesworth with 9 and McCombs with 7. As Coach Flynn acknowledged in the pre-game, his young squad isn't in Mason County's league yet. Give him time. Royals play Lincoln County Friday night at Bourbon County; will be their first real test of the young season.
fieldhousekrayzie21
this wasn't even close. Miller's dunk was one of the top 5 high school dunks I have ever seen. He had 18 pts and played limited minutes. There was an assisant coach there from Illinois there to watch Darius as well. Bourbon was just of of their league. Mason's JV would've beat their varsity. They just don't have the athletes to compete with Mason County. The rest of the 10th region & the state better watch out for Mr. Miller and company. These boys can play. mhighfield
This was the most impressive game yet for the Royals,As there starters didn't play but maybe half the game if that total. The thing i like best is Mason JV outscored Bourbons Varsity in the 3rd and 4th quarters 36-25,Coach O'hearn was a class act tonite not putting any starters back in early in the 3rd on.The alley oop to Miller where he caught it with 2 guys in lane and in mid air reversed it was sweet.Illinois did have a scout on hand and he seemed very impressed.Mason JV stays unbeaten also with a 35 point win.On to Friday and back down to Bourbon we go,Look for a great performance Friday nite from Miller in the spotlight. One other thing Mason is without its 6th man in Tony Browning so far also due back in 2 weeks from injury. polarbear1994
Royals look very impressive early on. Bet on every 10th region coach having a sleepless night planning for these guys.
