Russell is a tough team to play. They are well coached and very disciplined. Tough to win the battle of the boards against them. Hard loss for the Lady Rams but they will regroup. Great group of kids who work extremely hard. They will learn from this loss and improve as season moves forward.

:thumb: Very well said cville, imo Raceland girls will be a factor in the scheme of things by seasons end.

With 2 of the Top 5 players in the state at Rose Hill and no one on Russell's, Rowan's, Raceland's, East's, West's, Ashland's, Boyd's, etc teams in the Top 25 players statewide, what are our area coaches thinking?? Rose Hill has to be the favorite...They return 3 starters, 2 of whom are Miss Basketball candidates, from last year's state runnerup...With that type of talent it doesn't matter if the rest of the supporting cast is middle school level...

I'm trying to believe that you don't mean to be as mocking as you seem. Queen and Terry are not to be blamed that no others from this region made the "Top 25" and their Miss Basketball candidate status is well deserved.

 

Fortman, Okoro and Seales would be included in my list and I believe most RHCS supporters would agree. Beyond those three...your joke loses its punch.

 

The fact that the Lady Royals were placed 3rd in the CJ's poll illustrates how little genuine attention is given to the 16th Region by those who vote on such matters.

 

 

As for the topic at hand...congratulations to Russell...and I agree with Oldrambler that Raceland is still a contender.

I couldn't agree more as regards the downstate coaches. The #3 ranking was a disservice to the Lady Royals...serving only to set them up for ridicule and diminishing last year's accomplishments.

Well, I've been gone for over a year and return tonight to find that the 3 R's - Rose Hill, Russell and Raceland still just love each other.

 

I'd keep an eye on that 4th 'R' - Rowan
