December 9, 20196 yr I think expansion to 6 teams is most likely if the committee ever decides to expand, but an 8 team format could work too. 6 AQ (5 conference champs and highest ranked G5) and then two at large that takes the two highest ranked teams who didn't win their conference. In that scenario: 1. LSU v 8 Memphis 2. Ohio State v 7 Baylor 3. Clemson v 6 Oregon 4. Oklahoma v 5 Georgia The CFP in 2017 was worth $600 million. If they expand that number could easily reach $1 billion. I want to say 75% (??) of that is distributed evenly among the P5 and the other 25% goes to the rest of the conferences... Expansion would mean a crazy number being shared by 65 P5 schools.
