2019 Lady Royals Showcase at Mason County

This weekend is the Lady Royals Showcase at Mason County. All games are at the Fieldhouse.

 

Friday, December 6th

6:00 Mason County vs. East Carter

8:00 Dayton vs. Bath County

 

Saturday, December 7th

12:00 Bracken County vs. Western Hills

2:00 Mason County vs. Frederick Douglass

4:00 Fairview vs. Dayton

6:00 Fleming County vs. Franklin County

 

Come on out and see a good day of high school basketball!!!!!

All teams combined to shoot 128 for 273 on Free Throws in this showcase. I am going on the record to say that is terrible. Kids can not shoot Free Throws any more. The three point line is partial blame for this I believe.

That is horrible.

 

When I was at Morehead, there was a blind guy (he may have been from Maysville) who would shoot free throws in the old gym. Seeing-eye dog blind.

 

He was better than that.

That is bad, especially in such a large sample.

 

I've always considered free-throw shooting a variable, that some nights works for you and sometimes against you.

 

I've always believed as a coach, that it is what you emphasize that becomes important to your players. Free-throws have to be a vial part of your practice routine.
