Only game 4 of hopefully 15, but CCH has got to clean up the flags. 31-0 at Half and should have been way worse.

Cov Cath was able to get pressure third quarter with a really good defensive line but like previously stated by someone on another post, Cov Cath’s secondary is suspect and is helped out tremendously by their D-line play. Should have been a 21-7 maybe 21-14 score going into halftime. Dixie was driving and taking time off the clock then had two unforced errors (ball bounced off shoulder pads for a pick, and QB fumbles on 4th and 1) which gave Cov Cath a short field twice. Can’t do that with a good team. Right before the half ref doesn’t get the ball set when Dixie is on the 8yd line to go for the spike, time expired.

Didn’t see this but heard an official took a helmet to the face, hope he is ok.

Agree CCH had a pick called back on a pass interference that had absolutely nothing to do with the play as one example. They just don’t put their foot on the throat like the last 2 years. They move the ball at will, but Eddie better wake these boys up. Highlands has a puncher’s chance at unseating CCH this year.

Wow, so far every loss for Dixie has been a shutout. To be honest, I see maybe 1 or 2 wins on the remaining schedule but I'm not real confident.

Brossart 56-78 (418 win pct. so far)

Spritzky 68-37 (647 win pct. for nine years prior to Brossart)

A shame that a big school like Dixie does not have a enough kids to field a JV team.

It's kind of an embarrassment in my opinion. Are kids just not going out for football at DH? Has to be a reason why their program is on the skids.

Was told that Dixie fields a "froshmore" team. Not enough numbers for freshman team and not enough numbers for sophomores who aren't ready yet for Varsity to play JV. Also, their feeder school Turkeyfoot has low numbers as well. I was Turkeyfoot is out-manned just about every week even when they play small schools. Are numbers at Simon Kenton and Scott like this? My guess is no.

Turkeyfoot won the "large school division" championship in middle school last season. I don't know but that could be why their froshmores are doing so well (3-1). Hearing a few of those Turkeyfoot kids are now with Cov Cath. With the Dixie youth back, they may get back the numbers.

Kids gravitate to "winning" programs nowadays and Dixie is not a "winning program at the moment.

Also, you'd think participation numbers would be up when coming off a championship season but that's just not the case at TF.

I didn't follow Dixie much prior to the 2000s, but have they ever been that much of a winning program?

I don't recall ever hearing of them making much of a splash on the state scene at large aside from the 2014 season, which at this point seems to be as much an anomaly at this point as anything else. Dixie is currently 38-50 under the current coaching staff, which isn't what I would define as much of a "winning program". That's a 43% win rate. And if you remove the 2014 season when they had their state championship appearance (which I believe is their one and only in the 70 or 80 years of their football program), they drop to 25-48, a 34% win rate.

I understand your point but prior to present coaching, Dixie coaching staff (Spritzky) had a 600+ winning percentage which in my book means they were more often than not 500 or better, competitive each season and were at least relevant in the playoff picture to win a few games.
