The opening Friday night of the season is one of the most anticipated days of the year for me. I love this game and all that comes with it - tailgating in the parking lot, the buzz of activity around the stadium, the freshly cut and painted fields, and the hope that accompanies the start of each new season.

 

I feel ya brother...everything you said is dead on.

I would post the pregame pump up music from my playing days, but I don't think Rage Against the Machine would pass the censors here.

 

Songs are songs, if it is on Youtube/Google it is fair game.

I'm with you guys. This is my favorite time of the year. For the reasons already mentioned and also the sense of community it brings.

 

Lord knows people can't agree on anything any more. Whether it's the dreaded debates, differences in opinion on religion or whatever else people want to throw in the fire on a particular day, football lands us all on the same team.

 

We sit next to people who aren't at all like ourselves and it doesn't matter. Those are our kids on our hometown team and we are united as one.

 

Those pesky bills don't seem to matter as much and problems on the job seem to disappear for a moment.Whatever you're dealing with is secondary. Football on Friday nights is therapy that I highly recommend.

 

That is something I think we can all agree on.
