^ There is no justification other than hatred.

Petrino has twice the talent surrounding him, Mathews had those numbers and his team didnt even make the playoffs. Also, with the voting Im sure some thought went ito the fact that Trinity will probably win another State Title, and Petrino will probably get the MVP.

None of this SHOULD matter.

I don't see the hatred in that thread at all. He was simply stating that maybe the coaches looked at Mathews more than Petrino because he did not have the supporting staff around him. Which would make his numbers look that much better in some coaches eyes.

Not him....the coaches not voting for any of Trinity's skill players...this has happened every year since the boycott.

I understand where you are coming from now. I thought it was based solely on Petrino not getting the nod. You can understand where I was coming from with that.

These are Alex Matthew's stats....(It doesn't ascertain district and non-district games)

2,698 yards 33 TD's 11 int's 54% completion

These are Nick Petrino's stats

2,751 yards 35 TD's 4 int's 68%

469 yards rushing 9 TD's 4.6 ypc

I assume these numbers are "to date" numbers. If so, this doesn't show a true picture because Petrino has 4 more playoff games under his belt than does Matthews. You have to look at the statistics on a level playing field. If you can go back and find the regular season numbers for both and compare those, then you have something to talk about.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but you have to be fair to the kid and don't let the numbers lie one way or the other.
