swamprat
Western Conference Quarterfinal Game 7. Vegas led 3-0 with less than 10 minutes to go in the game when Cody Eakin cross checked Joe Pavelski off a face-off. Pavelski was helped off the ice and Eakin received a 5 minute major and game misconduct. During ensuing 5 minute power play, San Jose scored 4 goals to take the lead. The Knights tied it back up with 47 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Barkley Goodrow scored with 1:41 left in OT to win the series for the Sharks. San Jose faces Colorado in game 1 of the Western Conference Semis Friday night at home.
mcpapa
There’s never a good time to incur a major, but geez Louise.
swamprat
Then again, 5 minute majors happen all of the time and rarely do 4 goals result from them. I've seen many 5 minute majors killed off. I don't know what Eakin meant to the Vegas defense or penalty kill unit, but 2 things happened after the cross check. The Sharks got incredibly fired up. The Knights' power play unit fell completely apart.
Getslow
It's a shame this all took place at about 12:30 am Eastern time. Would've been something to watch. :lol2: Another great series that followed up last year's gem. Looking forward to Sharks/Avs.
