Johnny Manziel out of the CFL

The Montreal Alouettes have terminated their contract with Johnny Manziel. The Canadian Football League also informed the other 8 teams in the league that Manziel had violated the conditions set for him by the league and is therefore, ineligible to play in the CFL. They would not reveal what that condition was. They didn't reveal the conditions when he first signed and they won't now.

One may speculate what the violation was. Manziel had agreed to seek treatment for anger management and alcohol abuse as part of his acquittal of a 2016 domestic violence charge.

Manziel has said he will seek opportunities in the Alliance of American Football or the Xtreme Football League. Manziel played for two teams in the CFL. He was unable to break into the starting lineup for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and was traded to the Montreal Alouettes who failed to make the playoffs this season.

It appears Johnny football has been sidelined for now... by Johnny himself.
