January 7, 20197 yr Slow start but strong finish. The U played over their heads for the first 10:00 and were up 30-15. Nwora went on a big run to bring 'em back and they were only down 1 at the break. Williams played very well in the 2nd half and McMahon finally made a few after an 0-7 shooting start. Cunningham and Fore also contributed. King even had a couple of nice putbacks. Odd that Perry didn't play much after starting. He had some TOs and wasn't playing stellar defense but thought he'd be back in. They need him in the 4 guard rotation.
January 7, 20197 yr No more going down by 14 to start games please... Had it on while I was fixing dinner last night, and the girlfriend said "Are you sure you want to watch this?" I walked into the living room and they were down 15, and I said "Nope." :lol2: Checked again at halftime and tuned in for the rest.

My big concern on McMahon is that he really didn't get into the game until a Miami team with a short bench started playing a soft zone to avoid foul trouble in the second half. If not for that, they could have continued to take him out of the game. We'll see what happens long term and I was again impressed with this team's ability to battle through when things got tough (thinking of the Michigan State and Seton Hall games), but the way UK took McMahon and Sutton completely out of the game a week ago is going to linger as we start pressing through to the better teams on the ACC schedule.

This should be of no surprise to anyone, but McMahon can't create his own shot and he's a liability on defense. When he comes on the court, it's for one reason. Not really hard to game plan against him.
