NKYknowitall
Miller led with 24, Harding with 19 and 11 and McGuire with 14. Newport will travel to Alexandria Friday and take on the Camels.
Big Fundamental
Closer than expected after seeing the Highlands and Beechwood scores. Boone getting better?
coachtf
Yep they’re getting better. And Boone was missing senior Parker Kyle, three year starter. The final score was not indicative of the game. Game was 4 points at halftime and it was a 10 point game in the 4th quarter. Tate Hermann, Parker Fields, Julian Velasquez, Cole Shumate played well for Boone. For Newport, Donnie Miller is such a tough player. Love watching him play. He’s so smooth, but he’s a strong finisher around the hoop and as always he played great defense. Taj Harding is so strong inside, he and Sisson for Highlands will be a great matchup.
kyag
The thing that amazed me about this game is Newport's stats on shots taken. Harding if the stats are correct on KHSAA site shows that he took 25. Miller was very effective, shooting over 70% from the field.
Big Fundamental
Is Miller the best PG in the 9th region? How have Harding and Sisson matched up in the past? Good for Boone. Sounds like good coaching getting this team to perform after a couple bad losses to other 9th region opponents.

Sounds like good coaching getting this team to perform after a couple bad losses to other 9th region opponents. If Miller isn’t the best PG in the 9th, then I’d like to know who is. As for the Harding/Sisson matchup, last year there wasn’t much of one. Too fast and too quick and the game was ugly. Sisson gets his though in the half court when they operate their O, he’s just massive and a load to stop. 2 different styles of post players.
