December 4, 20187 yr 356 AM EST Tue Dec 4 2018 /256 AM CST Tue Dec 4 2018/ ...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE TONIGHT ACROSS PORTIONS OF EAST-CENTRAL KENTUCKY... A series of upper level weather disturbances will pass through the Ohio Valley today bringing mostly cloudy skies along with a mix of light rain showers and light snow showers. Temperatures during the day are expected to remain above freezing so little if any accumulation is expected during the daytime hours. A secondary and stronger upper level weather disturbance will move into the region late this afternoon and evening. With temperatures dropping into the mid-upper 20s, scattered snow showers are expected this evening and into the overnight hours. These snow showers may leave a trace or a dusting of accumulation in areas along and west of I-65. Further east out toward the I-75 corridor, the snow showers may be more numerous and may drop up to a quarter to a half inch of snow in some spots. Some localized amounts of an inch are possible. With surface temperatures expected to drop below freezing tonight, untreated road surfaces will develop slick spots in some areas. This may lead to hazardous driving conditions late tonight and for the early morning commute on Wednesday. The area at most risk for slick spots would generally be in areas east of the US 27 and 127 corridor.
