Ram Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Class 3A The two top teams in the rankings each got challenges from their top rivals in their district. Both passed their tests in resounding fashion. Corbin broke Bell's spirit late in the second half and now only need to take down one-loss Casey County to claim anotherdistrict Championship. Boyle County made a statement from the start and dominated Lexington Catholic in every capacity. The Rebels will lock down their own title if they can survive WanDale and the Wolverines. Belfry may be scraping their depth chart due to injuries, but the Pirates had plenty enough firepower to take down Lawrence County and essentially earn a pivotal #1 seed in their district. Belfry was not the only Eastern Kentucky team with a history of success getting a big win. Breathitt County had a very rewarding win over Powell County that will surely shoot a jolt of energy into a fan base that has seen hard times in recent years. The spotlight in the East this week will be District 5. Bath County looks for a historic win for their program against Russell. 1. Boyle County at #10 Western Hills 2. Corbin at Casey County 3. Belfry vs. Pike County Central 4. Central vs. Thomas Nelson 5. Lexington Catholic at Garrard County 6. Caldwell County -- OPEN 7. Paducah Tilghman vs. Fort Campbell 8. Bell County vs. Jackson County 9. Elizabethtown at Bardstown 10. Western Hills vs. #1 Boyle County
gchs_uk9 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Belfry passing Central this week caught me a little by surprise.
charlesw88 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Rankings look good. I wonder if Boyle County will be able to contain Wandale Robinson and the 10th ranked Western Hills squad.

To me, Class 3A has three tiers on this list. The top four are Tier 1 and are capable of winning the state championship. The next five are Tier 2 and with the right bracket could make a deep playoff run, but they won't win it. Finally, Western Hills is the top of Tier 3, which includes a ton of teams capable of beating and being beaten by any number of others.
