What are the toughest environments to play in college football?

Death Valley

The Swamp

Those are the first two that come to mind without putting too much thought into it.

I’m not sure if I would put the swamp in the top 5 of the SEC. I just don’t think the environment matches up to LSU and A&M for sure but I would say it’s comparable to Bama, Miss State, and Auburn.

Ok.

I wouldn't put Beaver Stadium in the top 5.

Ok.

Ok. Why? I wasn’t trying to get you worked up I was just genuinely trying to have a conversation.

I'd put anywhere that Nick Saban is coaching number 1...

Obviously, but the intent was clearly to discuss if the teams were equal what is the toughest place to play.

You never said anything about the teams being equal, thus my answer.

I didn’t think I had to. If that wasn’t assumed it would have simply been another who are the best teams thread...

Penn State and LSU are definitely the top 2 and I’d say Texas A&M is 3rd.

Rule #13 - Punctuation

Always a fun question. There are some stadiums that are always difficult, regardless of how good the team is. However, the intensity of the fanbase can really fall off with a lack of success.

The Swamp used to be an incredibly difficult environment, but seems to have fallen off with a lack of recent success. West Virginia can be a tough spot...when they're really rolling.

Iowa strikes me as a place that can really get up for a big opponent, and be a crazy place to play, even if they don't have a great team.

Of all stadiums I've visited, I'd have to say LSU by a mile. That place is just on a whole other level.

I thought Bryant Denny Stadium would be up there, but when I visited it felt more like an NFL game than a college football game.
