Top offense's in 4A this year?

Featured Replies

I guess they could, but they'd be wrong.

Why would they be wrong. I would expect Male to be able to pad the stats pretty well against Owensboro.

Because, when you do that, male only takes the total yards, divided by number of games played, which would exclude owensboro..while Trinity, has to divide by number of games, including St. X..which in turn, hurts their average..like Centre Rocks stated, they'd be wrong

Divide their yards by 9.5. Then they'd not be wrong.

Yeah....And when was the last time you didn't hear about these two schools making a title run. Of course, X,T, and Male have good offenses, they have D-1 players on their rosters every year. Who are some other schools with great offenses that aren't so obvious?

I don't think any from us...this season.

I would say numbers in relation to competition then T and Male have the top 2. Lincoln may have put up some good numbers but the competition level isn't even close. Lincoln and Male both played PRP. Lincoln lost only scoring 10 points and Male blew them out of the water scoring 59 points.

Since Trinity, Lincoln & Male have mentioned thus far, I thought I would take a look at the KHSAA website for stats...here is what I found

Male is ranked in the top 10 in the state with 198.7 yards passing, 235.1 yards rushing, #1 in points scored (avg) with 51.8 and avg margin of victory with 41.2

Lincoln does not have a top 20 passing game, but they are averaging 287.1 yards rushing (for a total of 438 yards per game) scoring 42 points per game and avg margin of victory is 27.6

Trinity does not have a top 20 rushing game, averaging 195.7 yards passing, scoring 40.6 points per game and average margin of victory is 28.3.

So I would have to say Male is the top offense followed by Lincoln and then Trinity based on the stats alone. Then again...it should be noted that I dont think Male really played anyone close to their level of competition except St. X in which it was a nailbiter at 28-27. No doubt that a Male/X game and a Male/Trinity playoff game should produce some interesting fireworks. Not sure what Lincoln would do but im sure they will dominate whoever they play.

The initial Thread asked for Best offenses in 4a, so, I'm not so sure what margin of victory has to do with anything...

Christian Co has a very good offensive team, but, they've been a little inconsistent, ex:(8 against WCentral)

I don't know much about Henry Clay, but, I know they can score some points..They have a tendancy to give up alot, too, but, that's a another subject for another thread.
