Another year, another crushing blowout in Week 1 for the Maroons. You have to go back to 2014 to find the last time Madisonville won their season opener, and they've lost the last four by an average of 30.5 PPG. The latest was a 41-13 drubbing by a resurgent Owensboro squad. Jeriah Hightower was a bright spot, rushing for 131 yards on 19 attempts. Marshall County presents a get-right game, despite the Marshals' 34-12 win over Fort Campbell. Madisonville won their matchup 42-29 a season ago, kicking off a span that saw them win five of six games. Will we see a similar result this year?

I'm interested to see how this plays out. It seems like some are higher on Madisonville than I am. Also, I know beating Fort Campbell isn't a great accomplishment but it does seem like Marshall County is making positive strides.
