John Tinsley is the new coach at Logan County

Featured Replies

According to Dominique Yates of WBKO, former Russell County Coach is the new head coach at Logan County.

Tinsley was also head coach for Barren County and coached them to their only regional championship in 1999.

This is the fourth school in the 4th Region that he has coached at, with previous stints at Barren County, Glasgow (twice), and Russell County preceding it. No other coach has done that since the 80s, and that one (Gerald Sinclair) coached four schools within one county. Tinsley is a very good coach - his tenure at Barren County included that school's only region title and is one of the last ones to be won by a team outside the 14th District. That said, man, he has moved around a lot. He hasn't been the head coach at a school for longer than five years since his first job at Hancock County (which was way back from 1990/91-1995/96). His previous stops in the region since his time at Barren County were three years at Glasgow, two years at Glasgow, and two years at Russell County. The Cougars have never been blessed with stability (outgoing HC Mason's six years were the longest EVER at the school), but I don't know if a quick hook is what they need as a program right now. Hopefully Coach Tinsley is dedicated to being there for at least longer than the 2-3 years he's served lately.

He said in an interview his son will be an assistant and the JV Coach
