newarkcatholicfan
Game 74. I have made more of a attempt to listen to at least a few games from more leagues this season. With that in mind, I listened to another game from the Florida State League yesterday, before driving to Akron to watch the Rubber Ducks game. Daytona Tortugas(38-30) Reds @ Florida Fire Frogs(30-38) Braves Dayton was able to use 10 hits, with 4 of them being for extra bases to score 5 runs and post a win over the Fire Frogs, by the score of 5-4. Randy Ventura led the winners with 3 hits and 1 RBI. Bruce Yari had 2 hits. Morgan Lofstrom only had 1 hit, but totaled 2 RBI to aid in the win. Lead off hitter,Taylor Trammell had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Daniel Sweet drove in 1 run and added a hit on the day. For the Fire Frogs, they too totaled ten hits on the day. Brett Cumberland blasted a solo home run(8) Light hitting Ray-Patrick Didder, had 3 hits to raise his average up to(.204). He also drove in a run. newarkcatholicfan
Game 75 Took this one in, in person. Harrisburg Senators(Washington)38-34 @ Akron Rubber Ducks (Cleveland)42-31 This was a good game for all of two innings. Then the Senators plated four runs in the third and this one was all but over. Harrisburg added four more in the seventh and to add insult to injury, they plated two in the eighth and ninth,to make the final score 12-2. For Harrisburg,Dan Gamache had 3 hits and 3 RBI to lead the way. Taylor Gushue had a hit and 4 RBI. Drew Ward had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Carter Kieboom totaled 3 hits. Austin Davidson had 2 hits and 1 RBI. Jake Noll had 2 hits and a RBI. Adam Brett Walker had 1 RBI. In all Harrisburg had 16 hits and add 7 more base runners by Akron pitchers walking them. For Akron there was not much to write home about. In all the Rubber Ducks did have 7 hits, with 3 of them being for extra bases. When the pitching staff walks seven, a team really has little chance to post a win. Connor Marabell had 2 hits a drove in a run. Mark Mathias had 2 hits and drove in a run. newarkcatholicfan
6,304 views as I post this game result. Game 82 Mahoning Valley(Indians)10-3 @ West Virginia Black Bears(Pittsburgh) 6-8 Of course MV wins tonight, a night after I drove to WV to take their game in. This was a weird one, with three of the Black Bears runs scoring on wild pitches and MV pitchers walked eight batters. Lucky for the pitching staff the offense woke up,with fourteen hits, including four extra base hits. They did have ten strikeouts, so all was not all sunshine and roses. For the winners Tre Gantt (Ohio State) had two hits ans scored two runs. He was off last night, which was not good for me because I wanted to see him play in person.Tyler Freeman(.455) continues to play out of his mind, as he had three more hits and drove in a run. He has a cannon for an arm and plays a mean defense, at this level.Richard Palacios(.400) drove in two runs and totaled two hits. Also with two RBI was Clark Scolamiero. For the home team,Robbie Glendinning had a hit and the teams only RBI. newarkcatholicfan
Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh)43-36 @ Columbus Clippers(Cleveland)41-39 This was my seventh minor league/independent game this season and it was the first time, the team I was rooting for won. Columbus jumped out with two in the first, when Yu Chang and Yandy Diaz plated runs, with RBI doubles. Clippers starter Mitch Talbot would give up only only one run, in six innings and he left with the 2-1 lead. His only run was a solo home run to Eric Wood(70 As usual the Clippers bullpen let the lead slip away. Cole Sulser, walked the first batter he faced and then the 2nd batter,Ryan Lavarnway(5) hit a two run bomb, to make it a 3-2 game after 6 1/2 innings. Columbus tied it in the seventh on a bases loaded walk to Brandon Barnes. The Clippers had bases juiced and got only one run. 3-3 after seven. Columbus scored five times in the eighth to make it a 8-3 game and that is how the game ended. Adam Rosales homers (11), a two run shot, to make it 5-3.Eric Haase had a two run single to make it a 7-3 game. The final run came on a Drew Maggi single.
