Buddy of mine just got his iPhone 6 screen replaced. Home button no longer works has to use the ghost button.

Called Verizon and I was available for an upgrade, so I went that direction instead of throwing money at the old phone.

My Iphone 6 as of last night can't find a signal, says searching. I have tried several of the quick fixes and nothing. After driving clear up to the apple store will they be able to repair this?

 

There's a whole bunch of stuff that can cause that. Both hardware and software.

 

I'm not sure which quick fixes you have tried.

 

1. Turn your phone off.

2. Take your SIM card out.

3. Take a Q-tip with a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol and clean the metal side of the SIM.

4. If you have a can of compressed air like you would use on a computer key board, blow out the SIM port. Otherwise you can just blow it, just make sure your mouth is dry, you don't want to blow moisture in.

5. Pop your SIM in and out 4 or 5 times. This helps clean the connectors inside.

6. Power your phone back up.

 

If that doesn't work. You could have a loose or broken antennae. You'll need to take it to a shop.

Home button is on it's own ribbon. I'm betting whoever repaired it didn't get it seated. Tell him to take it back to where he had it replaced, I'm sure they would pop it open and fix it. Would take them about 3 minutes.

Yes tried all that. Phone has been dropped alot so it was probably the internal antennae. I was due an upgrade at verizon so I went that route. Went with the 7.

Thanks. He did it out of town and already has an appointment with apple. Cust. Support talked to him for an hour. Did a reboot etc.
