The semis will be great games. I like Estill in that they’ve played a pretty good schedule (a mixture of mountain and Central Ky teams) and have a 24-7 record. They have good guards, size and shooters. Also a good defensive team. Which I realize Cordia has the same. The four finalists should be fairly even teams in talent. I’m partially picking with my heart in that I’d like to see a team from the 56th district win the region. Hasn’t happened since 2003.

This region is the widest open its been in a long long time. No clear cut favorite. Hazard has 0 wins against the tournament field but only lost to Cordia by 9 earlier in the season.

 

Estill County swept Wolfe County earlier in the season, both by 14 but it's hard to beat a team 3 times a season.

 

Knott swept Breathitt both times this season by 9 and 13. Breathitt playing good as of late.

 

Perry has home court advantage but they only defeated the Pirates by 7 earlier in the season in Stanton.

 

Should be one fun week of basketball
