Chromecast Question

Featured Replies

I'm looking at getting a Chromecast device so I can watch various online programs on my TV, specifically ESPN3. Is this a simple plug it into a USB or HDMI port and link to it...or does some software need to be loaded onto the TV?

I've currently linked my TV to my YouTube account and can cast to it, is this a similar process?

There is no software needed for the TV. Simply plug the Chrome cast into the TV's HDMI port and set it up on your computer. It's been awhile since I've done it, but there are a plethera of videos on You Tube and Google Chrome's site to walk you through it.

If you have cable, Direct TV, or a streaming service like PlayStation Vue or Sling, and you are using a smart TV, you should be able to set up the Watch ESPN app on your TV. Once done you can access ESPN3 directly from the TV without using Chromecast at all.

I have Spectrum cable but I'm not sure how to set it up without Chromecast. TV is kinda smart, but not real smart :lol2:

It has some built-in apps but I really can't access the net from it otherwise. It is a 4KHD about 2 years old.

I love my Chromecast. Nothing to do but plug the device in and set up your computer, tablet and/or phone.
