A bit understated.

This is a huge win for Dixie. Is the 9th region wide open?

 

Ryle beat Holmes and Conner. Holmes beat Dixie. Now Dixie beat Ryle.

Dixie led whole game until 6 seconds left in regulation...up as much by 13/14...double digit lead most of the game.

 

Ryle stormed back in 2nd half and finally took the lead with less than 10 seconds to go.... Pelfrey missed a game winning 3 for Dixie but Kaylee McGinn grab rebound and got the putback to tie at the buzzer.

 

McGinn was the difference maker for Dixie. Several key rebounds and baskets when they needing them most. Ryle was unable to stop her down low.

 

Schwartz and Scherr both struggled much of the game. Both had foul trouble. They both stepped up late to get Ryle back in it, but the Dixie defense was centered on stopping those two.

 

Scherr fouled out in 1st overtime and then Schwartz really stepped up.... everyone in the gym knew she was taking the shot....dixe had two people guarding her full court and she still managed to score.

 

Ryle was down one with 10 seconds left....Schwartz drove in and made the basket, but was called for the charge. Drawn by McGinn..... she did it all for the Colonels last night. That was Schwartz 5th foul and Dixie held on for the win.

 

As it was a boys / girls doubleheader... nice crowd there for the ending...made for a great enviornment.
