Mayfield has a solid team and will only get better when the football players get in basketball shape.

Mayfield plays really good team basketball, I was very impressed with their hustle, grit and fight!

Another positive is Mayfield only starts 1 senior.

Yes and not only do they start just one senior but he is the only senior who plays period. The 3 guys they bring off the bench are 2 sophomores and a junior. They are fun to watch this year. They play great defense. If they can start finishing around the basket more consistently they will be extremely tough to beat. I've seen them miss way too many point-blank layups and put backs this year, but those things happen I suppose.

They play Ballard on Wednesday in Owensboro and John Hardin on January 7th at McCracken.

Very impressive win for Mayfield... I did not go but listened on the radio. Hate that we don't have a better holiday tourney in the 8th district.

 

Heights better hope like heck that McGowan gets healthy. He's easily their most important player besides Tandy. Rebounds, passes, defends etc... Without him they are a VERY average team.
