Do city and community parks normally charge fees for the use of their fields by local youth sports teams?

 

I'm just collecting data and trying to understand how other folks around the state do things. I want to compare it to how we do things in Boyle County and see if we can improve things here.

Okay, for example, our local youth soccer league is BYSA. I think Lexington is LYSA. If LYSA teams have to use the fields at a Lexington city park, they pay for that usage?

I would think they do, (not in lexington to verify) but here, the soccer league pays a fee to use the fields at the parks.

Some leagues pay a fee to the county or city for field usage, and the county/city maintains the fields and sets them up. These can be a lump sum or per head (anywhere from $10 to $15 per player). Some leagues have a lease agreement with the county/city to where the league has full usage, but the league is responsible for the field maintenance and setup.

This sounds similar to the way we do things here. Our soccer league pays a per player fee.

So the group that runs soccer also runs little league as well, they pay $10,000 per year to use the county fields and parks. I am going to assume that 10K is passed on to the players in their player fee.
