Who comes out here this year in the playoffs...There are 7 really good teams who could all stake a claim..Lets hear it and why you think they'll do it..

Marshall Co - 7-0

Henderson Co - 6-1

Owensboro Sr - 6-1

Apollo - 6-1

Graves Co - 6-1

Christian Co - 5-2

Warren Central - 5-2

 

I'm gonna go with Owensboro Sr myself...They've got a very stout defense and are in the easier of the 2 districts, imo...

They've definately got the talent to, but, seems like every year they find a way to get upset...Maybe this will be there year?

If the Colonels can get everyone healthy they are the favorites because of Tandy. I think the biggest competition will come from Owensboro and Warren Central.

Christian Co 2 - Owens Sr 1 - everyone else 0...

 

i figured a little more love for hendo, wcentral and marshall...

That's my view today. It could change tomorrow.

 

I think the top five, maybe even the top six, are fairly close together.

1) Christian Co.=Has the athletes. Their defense is as healthy as it will be since Lee and Sunkett are done for the year. Lee since the spring and Sunket since the 2nd half of the opener. They might get Lee back for the playoffs but their still not counting on it. Need to get a consistent running game and their O-Line has given a lot of hits/pressures on Tandy the last 3-4 weeks. Kicking game not what it has been in the past.

 

2) Owensboro= Athletes and a good running game.

 

3) Warren Central=Has the athletes to beat the Colonels along with good QB play. Proven performers in big game situations.

 

4) Marshall Co.= Best offensive coach in the area and a big time player in Williams. More athletes than usual and a solid defense with a good LB core.

 

5) Henderson Co.= Duffer is doing one of the best coaching jobs in the state. Lightfoot gives them a go to guy.

 

6) Graves= Mike Rogers has brought a spark to the program. Well coached on the defensive side. Have the capability of dulling you on offense and then hitting it for the big play. (Exactly what they did to Christian last year) The thumping Warren Central gave them brought them back to reality.

 

7) Apollo

 

I think Marshall Co. could win it with coaching along with Williams and a solid defense. We will find out a lot about them when they play Christian Co.

Gotta agree with u on the Duffer Duffy thought. Beginning the off season with a huge graduation loss, starting it with a players death & all the resulting finger pointing & huge distractions, the kids have bucked it up & are having a fine season that could well end in a district title. Should Hendo beat Apollo friday nite, it will set up a huge showdown in Henderson with Oboro Sr. Henderson has not lost a district game in several years! Perhaps its a little early, but he gets my vote as COY statewide!
