Houston 28 South Florida 24

I left at the end of the third quarter. With the rain as it was, I did not want to sit in traffic after what I knew was going to be a loss.

I said after the first game that Gilbert's offense would cost them one.

Nice win for Houston.

And they may have found their quarterback. D'Eriq King passed for 290 yard and ran for another 112 in the win. He had ice in his veins in the 4th quarter. Kyle Postma may have just gotten a permanent seat on the bench.

I have to hand it to Quinton Flowers. After the game, instead of running to the locker room and sulking, he stayed on the field, went around the stadium, and thanked every fan that stayed after final. He was the last man off the field.

When you play not to lose, you lose.

ESPN did a little feature on Flowers.

What a great young man.

He has overcome a lot of obstacles in his life.
