Stay the Course in Cleveland?

Featured Replies

Again, letting go of Brown and DePodesta means they are not staying the course. It is not an in-between type thing.

They switching QBs again?

Kevin Hogan had badly bruised ribs. Kizer started the game but threw 2 INTs. One at the end of the 1st half, the other to start the second half. Jackson Yanked him and brought in Cody Kessler who nearly won the game. Tied it up to go into OT. Then Kenny Britt dropped a ball on the 30 yrd line in OT that would have had Cleveland in FG range.

Jackson was testy when asked about yanking Kizer and who would start this week.

Here's what Jackson had to say about it (in part):

"If everybody feels like I'm supposed to just leave a guy in there when we keep turning it over, I'm not going to do that,'' he said. "My job is again develop quarterbacks, but I'm also in charge of helping this team win games so that's what I am going to keep doing."

Jackson was also bugged by the notion that he's hurting Kizer's confidence by yanking him out.

"Today, I can't worry about confidence,'' he said. "You guys keep talking about confidence. We're in the business of winning games. This is a performance-based business. I have 52 other guys in there to worry about their confidence and trying to win.''
