Who wins this district showdown? A win for Frankfort would lock the 1 seed. Kentucky Country Day hopes to get out of Frankfort with a win.

Should be a good game but KCD will wrap up the #1 seed in the district. It will stay close for a half then KCD will pull away!!!!

KCD-42

Frankfort-21

Frankfort is blessed with some serious athletes, a passionate coaching staff, great tradition and distinct home field advantage. It's a unique place to play, unforgettable really.

And it's a tough read on how sharp KCD will be when they lace things up Friday night. They should be. That's the reasonable expectation. Because so much is on the line, plenty to motivate the Bearcats--a district title defense, home field seeding through the regional final of the playoffs, continuing the magic of the year so far. There's a lot to be excited about.

But.......KCD comes off a bit of a head scratching, hold on for dear life win against Holy Cross and a complete blowout of an over matched Rock Creek of Indiana. It's been a while for this talented senior/laden team to come out pumped and focused-- not since the emotion laden slugfest with LCA back in mid September.

What impact will the blowout have? The JV players were in for a good portion of the game. And no one who saw it would say that KCD played anywhere near top performance Friday night. So, it's time to return to needing the best your mind and body can provide, to return to concentration on assignments and precision on offense, and flying to the ball in droves on defense. Plus the defense will have some serious running and gunning thrown at them with the likes of Davis, Holt, Smith and Co. The Bearcats have four days to sharpen back up...four days to return to September form.

That should read Davis, Hammons and Jones for Frankfort.

Frankfort came out of the Holy Cross game banged up. They have lacked depth all year and injuries have taken a toll on this scrappy group of Panthers.

KCD by far is the most talented team in the district. They are senior heavy with a ton of experience. They were able to rest big part of their roster Friday night. Should come in well rested and ready to play.

Should be a good game. I think that KCD wins but it will be a challenge.

Have been wondering about the Frankfort/Holy Cross tilt from last Friday, seeing if that district game helps in analyzing the game coming up....probably doesn't explain everything, but should be noted that Holy Cross did not have its starting QB in for much of the second half against the Panthers. Whether he was injured or the Cougars coaches wanted to go with a different look after being down at halftime, that's unclear. But Jaren McDonald was replaced by Chaz Garaghty in the second half.

Looks like everyone was at full strength for the first half of that game, which Frankfort dominated...looked like McDonald took a big hit at some point early in the 2nd half.

KCD by 18.

Calpreps has it 44-21 KCD. Gut feel is that it will be closer.

42-21...off by a safety

Panthers have been and still are extremely banged up. Last week vs Holy Cross lost two more guys for the year. Panthers are paper thin and will need few things to go there way.

Always tough to hear about teams losing players, especially in the heart of the season, especially smaller school squads.

I expect Frankfort to draw on its big time athletes at the skill positions and Coach Foley to rally his team as only he can. Good luck and safe night for everyone.
