The Bobcats look to go 6-0 with a win over Henderson County. The Colonels are 1-4 in 2017.

Is this a Cinderella Story in the making or the result of a schedule which is proving not to be very strong?

As one of only 5 unbeaten teams in 6A, I feel compelled to keep Ohio County on the BluegrassPreps radar. Henderson County, despite their current record, is the best program historically on the Bobcats schedule this season. The Colonels won this battle 55-13 last season and 35-0 in 2015.

Will Ohio County remain relevant or fade away after this meeting?

Every game deserves a poll!! :ylsuper:

Ohio County is having a fine season, but quality of opponents has not been the same as what Henderson County has faced. Heath Simmons is a 3 year starter at QB for the Eagles (this is not Ohio College ;)), passing for 1056 yards with 18 TD's and no picks thru 4 games. Factor in 2 RBs (Q Daryius McHenry and Caden Brown) averaging close to 100 yards per game and the firepower is there. This could be the year.

Henderson has played a much tougher schedule and could be more "game ready". The numbers statswise don't tell much other than QB Skip Patterson is basically The Man. The defense gave up 42 points to Caldwell County this week, who has a comparable offense setup to Ohio County.

Combined records of opponents:

Ohio County: 5-19 (strongest opponent is Hancock County (2A) at 2-2)

Henderson County: 19-5 (Strongest opponent is Evansville Reitz, with Caldwell and

Christian thrown in for good measure)

Henderson has clearly played the stronger schedule, but Simmons' experience will be edge the Eagles need. Ohio County won't blow them out, but I like them for the win and to stay undefeated.

Henderson will get 4 players back that all have missed 2 or 3 games. Henderson last week seen dada Simpson get 145 yards on the ground who had 190 yards last year in this game. Patterson ran for 125 yards. Then 3 other runners combined for around 80 yards. Dada numbers not as high this year as last because Henderson has more weapons so not running him as much as last year.

Caldwell got 42 pts, 21 pts in last 9 mins which wasn't all the d's fault. Punt return for 7pts. Fumble punt on 35 yard line short feild. Then a turnover on downs 38 yard line short feild again. Henderson d is much better other than first week has played great. Gibson southern ave 60 plus a game only got 28 on cols and that was thanks to starting 20 yards away for first two scores.

I like Henderson in this game at home! Ohio County will come in confident, but if things don't go well early not sure they know what to do when faced with adversity that they haven't seen this year. Very interesting game!

@thsrocks Ohio County Eagles, not Bobcats. That's Ohio University!

I like Henderson in the matchup, but Ohio County is achieving more than anyone thought they could up to this point. Quarterback Heath Simmons for the Eagles is legit. IMO, he's a 1AA, possibly a mid major D1 talent QB. If Heath Simmons was playing for a state power, everyone would be talking about him. New Ohio County coach DeMarcus Ganaway has instilled new life into the program along with his staff that he brought in.

Yeah, I feel asleep at the wheel on the Ohio County nickname. I apologize and it was not meant as a slight to the Eagles. Here's hoping the remain unbeaten for weeks to come.

Henderson wins this game, they have been in every game except one and played some very good teams, plus it's at home.
