You have to go back a lot of years to find the last time Bowling Green started 1-2. The Purples were over matched against 6A St. Xavier and will try to keep it in the class in a huge showdown with #4 Owensboro. The Devils enter riding high after dismantling cross-town rival Owensboro Catholic. Covington Catholic looked good in their first week as the top team, but the level of competition increases a bit against a solid Kings (OH) squad. Fern Creek failed to show signs of life on offense and will need to bounce back, but it won't be easy against a ranked 6A Butler squad.

Max Prep rankings have them #9 in 5A so have to be close.

I could see them at #9, or also #11 depending on how you look at it. Highlands loss looked really bad, but honestly Scott County's running game and oline likely made Highlands defense look even worse than it really is. It was a bad matchup for the Highlands D. Pulaski County meanwhile has dropped two in a row, but they were to 4A #2 Wayne County and 3A #1 Corbin. Pulaski County played within a field goal of beating Wayne County and lost to a very good Corbin team 36-7. So Pulaski County's losses really don't look that bad.

 

North Laurel on the other hand is 3-0, however their opponents combined record is 2-6, so essentially it's hard to get a good read on them at this point given their strength of schedule. If the teams above them keep losing I imagine they will eventually work their way in by default, but at this point I agree with keeping them just outside of the top 10. FWIW, they are just outside of the top ten, imo.
