I don't want to take anything away from Fleming Co. they played great and capitalized on Greenup's mistakes however Greenup was all out of sorts last night. They played a tough game on Saturday full of emotions and then had an unexpected turnaround of playing on Thursday having to travel 1.5 hours. They'll regroup and be ready for the next one. They are relatively young with a young QB at the helm. It was an unexpected loss but you'll have that. I look for them to have a good season.

And taking nothing away from Greenup for leading most of the game and taking advantage of Fleming County's multiple turnovers (2 in the red zone and 1 they returned for a Td), but Fleming was out of sorts on offense as well. You see, they lost their best player (pre-season district player of the year in Cats Pause and a kid with D1 offers) in the first game. The star of their first game, was limited in practice all week due to an injury and their starting left tackle was in an accident yesterday morning and didn't play. They were coming off an emotional win over long time rival Mason County and could have been looking ahead to rival Rowan County. They, as well, only found out Wednesday morning they would be playing on Thursday.

However, they still beat a very good Greenup County team. I say all that because sometimes you just lose ball games. I know Greenup had a lot going on this past week and I am sure they will next week as well. As will Fleming and every other team that plays. They will regroup and be fine!

Absolutely. That game could have easily gone either way. Terrible news for the Alexander kid. Tremendous ball player and really hate to see him have to sit out his senior year. That kid made the most incredible catch against Greenup last year in the endzone. Just amazing. Good luck to Fleming on the rest of their season.

Congrats to Fleming, the Panthers must have played very good football bc GC is a good team. I think that this result, at least in part was due to it maybe being a classic "trap" game for the Muskies ....meaning that they were on a huge high after a Win over a rival Russell in the week before and next Friday will play Raceland, the other county rival. Looking past teams is so easy for h.s. kids to do. Doesn't matter how many times their coaches tell them not to, they are looking to the rival game in the next week. That's not meant to take a thing away from FC, as I said thet had to have played well.
