Not sure how Louisville works but I have a friend who lives in NKY and his son goes to Cincinnati St. X. His son is NOT ALLOWED by the school, not sure if that is an Ohio rule or school rule, to play ANY sports. Do those Indiana kids now live in KY. or does Kentucky/Louisville schools not have the same types of rules. I am just asking. Not trying to stir any pots.

The Ohio rule for the private schools is the player would have to attend grade school in Ohio to be eligible for athletics and not cross the bridge just for high school. Of course, they could change their residence.

I'm sure they would but if they are good they will most likely go to Trinity. Just like Herron and Moore from New Albany. Not knocking them, it's just reality. I'm sure X would have liked to have those 2 kids.

St Xavier does have a rule about not taking senior transfers. Browning Nagle's son transferred half way through his junior year from Tennessee. St Xavier still does accept academically less gifted young people. This started in the late 60s and picked up steam around 1975 when busing began in Louisville public schools. St Xavier is more particular about who they accept into their hallowed halls. Trinity is a more welcoming community.

My 3 boys will be in public schools until high school. The oldest is 10, youngest is 2. This was a decision made years ago. They are in a fine school system where we currently reside. If they chose to play sports when they get to Trinity (or beforehand) that is up to them.
