What is happening with the secondary?

 

The athletes we have there now are more than capable playing the position. I think right now it's more mental mistakes than anything. So while I don't know for sure from what I see I'm sure the coaches are coaching them up and making sure they are where they are supposed to be and understand their responsibilities On Any Given set. The run defense has some work to do also. We did well but could have done so much better. I seen on film that our linebackers were being overly aggressive running into the hole, not breaking down and just being in poor position and missing having to lunge of course missing the tackle, essentially they're just running their selves out of the play.

I agree, Line backers need to be a bit more patient. DB Justin Selby had to step up against Cov Cath and make a bunch of tackles that the LB's missed. Basically had to come up and play LB as the play was progressing. That makes it an easy play call to catch the entire defense anticipating run and go deep. However, I still think the defense is ahead of the Offense still.

Defense is definitely performing ahead of the offense at this point. We need to get better across the board. One plan, one team, do our jobs!

I agree with this. I don't think they are that far from doing well. They played two teams where you could not make a mistake or you would get burned so the mental errors became glaring. But they do have some good athletes in place and I expect there will be improvement over the next couple of games.
