Who do you got in this first ever meeting between the two schools?

Harlan County comes in with an 1-0 record off a beat down Ashland. Hazard has yet to play but has scrimmaged some quality opponents.

Picked Harlan. Just think they have to many S's. Size, Strength, Seniors, Simmons, and that Stingy D.

This is going to be a good one. I'm glad I will be in attendance to watch it.

I really need to get the injury status of hazard before making a prediction. If several kids are out then it will look to be in The black bears favor.

If Harlan County beats hazard is it worthy to crack the top 10 in 5A?

Hearing several injuries for hazard. I'm not sure what's true or not. But hearing up to 6 or more starters may not play. The injury bug is starting early. I sure hope it gets better.

Worthy? I'd say yeah. A win over Hazard would give Harlan County back to back wins over teams ranked in the top 5 of their class at the time of the game.

 

But, will they make that jump? It depends on how things shake out with the teams in the 8-10 range in 5A. Doss vs South Oldham is a huge game this week. Depending on the outcome, South Oldham could drop out or cling to the 10 spot . Then you've got to look at teams like Highlands and Pulaski County. If the Birds look impressive against Campbell County, I think we'll start to hear the drum beat for Highlands in the top 10. And Pulaski's got the biggest opportunity of anyone outside the current 5A rankings against Wayne County.

 

A win on Friday should definitely earn the Black Bears a place in the discussion, though.
