CFB playoff teams predictions

Featured Replies

Not sure yet who the teams will be, but the ACC and SEC reps will play for the title again.

A healthy Florida State has the potential to be crazy good this year.

Florida State vs Clemson has more impact than most of the games you listed.

Clemson isn't going to be the same team this year IMO. 2 or 3 loss team.

Maybe so, but conference games have much more impact than any non-conference game does.

Not on perception. If FSU/ Bama is a blowout, the fallout for the losing team will have a lot of carryover going forward. Same with OSU/ Oklahoma. At this point I think UofL/ FSU is a more important game than FSU/ Clemson. I think UofL is better.

No it won't. Ohio State got their butts kicked by a crappy Virginia Tech team in Columbus back in 2015. How'd that perception hurt them?

Weren't you trying to argue to me that a two loss Bama team would get in virtually no matter what last week? This is what I think happens. Jarrett Stidham led Auburn knocks Clemson off early, drops a game to LSU, knocks off Bama, loses to Florida. Unless Auburn just runs over Bama, you think Bama doesn't backdoor their way in this year like OSU did last year?

I was "debating"...lol you on the fact that you were saying a 10-2 SEC Champ Bama wouldn't get in with 2 losses. One to FSU and one to an SEC team. I think we both were doing the math wrong. They would have to be 11-2 at that point. I don't know if Bama gets if they lose to FSU and don't win the SEC. We already had our mulligan in 2011 when we lost to LSU and then got the rematch later....hence a big reason for the playoff format we have now.

It did hurt. They were outside the top 10 in the playoff rankings up until the last 2 polls I believe. I'm thinking more along the lines of last year. Let's say USC ran the table after getting beat 55-3 last year to Bama. I don't think USC gets in to avoid another potential blowout and instead Penn State gets in.

The 5 biggest games of the year:

1. Ohio State/ Penn State

2. USC/ Stanford

3. Florida State/ Alabama

4. Alabama/ Auburn

5. Ohio State/ Oklahoma

At this point these 5 games will have the largest say on who gets in the playoff.

I didn't add Oklahoma to my list bc I don't know how they will be with a new head coach. They should be very good.

On Bama / FSU ,,,imo both could be due to their game being the 1st week and ranked so high

1. Iowa St.

2. Rutgers

3. Ole Miss

4. Virginia
