Here, this should help you. If you know the distance from home to first. And you know the distance from first to second. You can calculate from those totals the distance from home to second. Courtesy of that pathagarun guy.

Pythagoras' Theorem

 

In a right angled triangle:

the square of the hypotenuse is equal to

the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

c is the longest side, the hypotenuse.

 

When the date is 8-15-17

 

a=8

b=15

c=17

 

 

(8*8)+(15*15) = 289

 

 

17*17 = 289

 

 

Therefore...

 

 

(8*8)+(15*15)=(17*17)

 

8-15-17 is significant in geekdom, because a date combination that solves to Pythagoras Theorem is not exactly a common occurrence. Celebration involves smoking weed and saying "Wow!".
