Franklin County 2017

Featured Replies

What does Franklin County need to do to improve in 2017? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Franklin County has a new staff in place with some new faces and few old stand by guys. They are a young team but return a lot of starters from last year . I think as the season goes they will be a team on the rise as the young talent, returners, and new coaches develop and get their schemes in place. I have watched a few practices and this staff is organized and coaching hard. Kids have bought in so far from my observations. I'm anxious to see the product on the gridiron this year after last years disappointing season.

Saw on facebook where one of the kids of a staff member hurt his knee in 7-7.

Who would that be?

Will they be good enough to compete with Shelby and Collins in district 2?

Jury still out on who they can beat in district, Collins game could have went either way last year. Shelby was dominant. Not sure what each team has coming back? Whats your opinion?

They both have a lot of key players returning. Both teams also lost some key players but hearing they have guys to step in.

Who would that be?

Ledford

It is actually district 4, aren't Spencer and North Oldham in this district as well?

Ledford's son who was injured is in 7th grade he has another son on the team that is a senior. I also seen he had a knee injury that happened at UK 7 on 7.

To me FCHS will be competitive in district but should be considered the underdog with all the changes and last years showing.

Sorry ground, reg 2 district 4.

Yes those other 2 are in district but I don't think they will be contending this year for dist 4 championship.

Not sure if Shelby will miss a beat and Collins still steppping up game

Collins is definitely the team to beat in the district. You could probably go with Franklin, Shelby or Spencer at the 2 spot, North Oldham will be much improved from last year. Just as every year it is a tough district and there will be some tough weeks for these teams.

Collins is team to beat? What puts them ahead of Shelby?

The number of players that they have returning. They played a lot of juniors last year. Offensively there main hit will be losing most of their receivers but they have the QB, RB and most of offensive line back. Defensively I think they return a large number of starters. Shelby has to replace some key pieces most notably an experience QB, which is imperative running the triple. They will improve as the season goes along so long as they stay healthy. As for Spencer they lose Leff on offense and Brown on defense so I am sure they will improve as the season goes on as well. Franklin has a new coach they returns several pieces and I also believe as the season goes on they will show improvement. North will be in the second year with coach Gamsky and i hear he has added some new assistants to his staff. They should move forward the second year under their new coach. Should be interesting when district play rolls around.
