Wireman
We left early Saturday morning and headed through Western Kentucky. Did a little fishing at Kentucky Lake before heading to the Mississippi River. Stopped Briefly in Cairo, Illinois (made it out alive) and spend last night in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Explored there for a few hours this morning before heading to St. Louis. Spent most of the afternoon and evening in St. Louis before heading to Fairview Heights, Illinois for the night. Planning to explore a little around here in the morning, then heading back towards home (roughly 4 1/2 hours away). It has been an incredible trip. I have a ton of pictures. Now if I can just figure out how to post some on here.
Theoldguy
Loved being on the tip of land in Ill. where the Ohio and Mississippi came together. The power of those two rivers merging, was amazing to see. Beautiful Country around those parts, as my Son-in-law is from a small farm town in Southern Ill. and he and my Daughter met while attending Murray State. Wireman
Cairo is so rough that I actually spent time researching the town's decline. Very depressing.
