LA Burning 25 Years Later

Featured Replies

Did anyone watch the LA Burning 25 years later special? I had never seen any of that footage before, very interesting to hear the comments of the people who were caught on camera doing damage. The Koreans didn't mess around when it came to their stores. I was only 1 when this all went down so I never really knew how much chaos was involved with this situation.

At the end of the show they have several key players of the documentary sitting around talking and their is some interesting takes on where they stand today in their beliefs of the current police force.

I didn't see it but it sounds interesting. What channel was it on?

I watched most all of it. It was great stuff and I certainly remember that era well.

Darryl Gates was a tool before, during and after.

Some great individual stories. Some that still made me angry and some that made me sad. It was obvious that something was brewing and ready to explode and in retrospect it is hard to believe all the moves that could have been made to diffuse this.

The moving of Rodney King Case to Simi Valley was an atrocious PR decision.

I did not know the Korean Store Lady shooting the teenage girl over Orange Juice. That explains a lot of the black-Korean anger I didn't quite understand before.
