Where is everyone going? Where is the best place to go out of state for the tournaments around Christmas time? Some go to florida, some to gatlinburg, there is even a good tourney in Las Vegas. Just wondered who has the best hospitality and where i need to make plans to attend to watch some good ball!

I know the 5th/3rd is a great one to watch right here in the state, but i like to travel and like a break from kentucky for a week every now and then, especially if you can be at a beach some where.

It may not be high on the list of must see tournaments on a national basis, but Buckhorn is going to the Walton Sun Blowout in Freeport, Fl. It is a first-class tourney which gives teams and fans a great discount at the Sandestin Hilton Golf Resort, which is located right on the beach in Destin. It is a 16 team tournament with teams from all over the southeast. Cookeville, TN took first place last year with a win over Mandeville, LA. Buckhorn took third by beating Maclay, FL.

Destin is a wonderful place to go. The beaches are beautiful. There is some very good basketball down there as well. It was a very good showing for Buckhorn last season.

We went to Daytona Beach last year, it was a great trip, good teams in it too.

Lee County is going to be traveling Brian Station over the Chrismas break and be competeing down there.

Another good tournament Estill went to last year was the Johnson Central tournament. It was about a week before Christmas, there were some decent teams down there (Lee Co., Johson Central, Bracken Co., Hart Co.)

Hazard always hosts a tournament sometime around Christmas.

Johnson Central Tourney is around Christmas
