Region Tourney's start on Friday

The wrestling post season begins tomorrow with the Region Tourneys. Region 6 (The NKY region) is at Dixie, and is always one of the most, if not the most competitive regions in the State. RD 1 and 2 plus some conso rounds on Friday, and Saturday starts with the Championship semi's.

In just its second year as a varsity program, it looks like Bardstown will advance at least three wrestlers to the state meet, including sophomore Keldon Tilley, who upset No. 2 seed Zach Boarman to advance to the 3rd-place match and grab his second state trip. He was the Tigers' lone representative last year.

Nelson Co. junior Michael Donaway has had a nice tournament as the No. 7 seed. Just 2-1 on the season coming in, Donaway won his first-round match, was beaten by the No. 2 seed in the QFs, then won 3 straight matches to get to the third-place match. Unless an alternate draws in, Donaway will be the Cardinals' lone state representative out of Region 2.

Yep. SK had a great tourney. SK finished first, followed Walton, then Scott. Proud dad here of Scott's region champ at 195.
