ACA Replacement Info Leaked

Featured Replies

As I've mentioned previously in order for insurance companies to not bail the govt is going to have to give them some concessions while they figure out what the replacement plan will look like.

This report talks about two proposals that were leaked.

A few things jump out:

New plan would allow insurers to charge seniors more. They currently have a limit of 3X the average insured. It will go to 3.49X . Seniors will not be happy.

It will also decrease the % that is currently required to be covered by the insurance company.

Another article I read today said that insurers are asking for the govt to reinstate the billions of subsidies they used to receive prior to ACA in order to help keep them in the market.

This quote also jumped out:

"Notably, the administration does not appear to be considering major changes to Obamacare’s individual mandate in this proposal."

It's going to get worse before it gets better. Expect another year of 20-30% increases. There isn't an easy fix to this.

Those don't seem like the changes that were expected. I don't get much right, but ACA is where the honeymoon ends.

I don't blame Trump trying to push the rest of his agenda through first.

Never was never will be unless the government wants to take it all on. Then it's easy. Expensive but easy.
