Tanner Fisher led Bracken with 11. Austin Crawford was battling an illness and only scored 8, according to the Polar Bears Twitter account.

Bracken country lost to fatigue, illness and a hot shooting Spencer Free. Overall, dont expect too much from Harrison Co. The coaching is often clueless on how to coach the talent they have. They're playing checkers when they should really be playing chess. They're not developing their BIGS and all they want to do is shoot 3s. The kids dont play sound defense either. The offensive needs to change and they need to play more up tempo.

 

Bryant and Free are good shooters. They're not playmakers.

 

Turley and Harris are playmakers and can get to the rim. The Harris kid for his height can really get to the rim but they dont use him like that; he also plays very unselfish. The kid just needs to get stronger. Turley will continue develop and become one of the best PGs in the 10th region.

 

Mitton has some good inside post moves for a BIG but hes not play enough to be effective. Gilkey, the senior guard, needs to demonstrate better leadership by getting everyone involved offensively. Price and Thompson off the bench make good contributions offensively and defensively (taking charges)

 

Overall these kids have to turn up the intensity- it starts in practice. They need to learn how to play as the Scott County program

Even with Austin Crawford sick it sounds like Bracken County played well. And cliche "supporting cast" stepped up when they needed to but it wasn't enough.

Understand that A.C. was under the weather, but still got up 14 shots. Did Harrison's athletetic ability mirror Paris' approach and cutoff his penetration buckets limiting his shot selection to outside the paint? Have thought for sometime that this is the recipe on how to beat the Polar Bears and why the rest of the team has to become totally engaged on every offensive possession. Just saying if I was an opposing coach, this would be my game plan. But, and it's a big but, I would need very quick and strong defenders to implement the strategy.

Don't worry everyone, Coach Hinson will have this team playing like a bunch of piranhas come district tournament time. This tough road loss is part of a much bigger plan. I think Coach wanted to see if the supporting cast could answer the bell.
