Christian County will be playing the the Hatfield and McCoy Shootout in Williamson, WV. They will play Class 1A Tug Valley January 20th and Class 3A South Charleston the 21st. I saw rankings from January 6th and SC was ranked 3rd in 3A (which I believe is the largest class in WV) and TV was 4th in 1A. Does anyone from eastern Kentucky know anything about either one of these teams from West Virginia?

That bus drive alone is a loss of 10 points for Christian County before tipoff.

I saw Tug valley beat Belfry by 11 I think. That's the only KY team I saw on either schools schedule before Christian County. Hopefully they represent the state well.

Tug Valley is a traditional A power in West Virginia. Their best player off last years team transferred to Mingo Central, he is a Marshall commit.

 

They will have issues with the athleticism of Christian County.

 

 

South Charleston is AAA and will be as athletic as Christian County. It will be the better game of the two.

 

CC should win both.

Interesting tournament name for a far WKy team to be a participant. Thought it might be a couple Pike Co. schools vs couple WVa schools?

It would make more since if was eastern Kentucky schools vs. Western West Virginia schools but this way works too I guess.

It's started as exactly that.

 

It has turned to getting some great teams to play local teams.
