Windows 10 Help

I just got my daughter a new laptop. I've never used windows 10 and I have encountered a very annoying issue. Everytime we click the touchpad a search box pops up in the left side of the screen. I've noticed when using a mouse this doesn't happen so it seems to be an issue with the touchpad. I have no idea how to correct this issue, but figured that somebody on here would be able to assist. Thanks.

I think it's Windows 10. That's the current release isn't it. Couldn't afford a Mac and decided that Chromebooks wouldn't suit her needs.

Windows 10 is phenomonal. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Can you give me more information, or more pictures so I can see what's going on? Is it Cortana? You can easily disable Cortana.

I don't think that it is just Cortana, any press of the touchpad brings up the search box that I put in the picture above. It only happens with the touch pad and not when you click with a mouse or the touchscreen. (It's a 2 n 1 type laptop) If I hadn't bought her a mouse, I'm not sure we would be able to do anything. One finger tab on the touchpad brings up the search box a second tap takes the box away.
