What a game! Holy Cross led 48-42 with 2:36 left in the 4th quarter. Brossart kept chipping away at the lead. Holy Cross was up by 1 (49-48) with 14.1 seconds left in the game. Holy Cross made 2 free throws putting them up 51 to 48 with 1.3 seconds left. A Brossart player was fouled while attempting a three point shot as time expired. She was awarded three free throws but missed the first which ended the game. Great game - neither team gave up.

Valiant effort by the Brossart ladies tonight!!!

 

Survived a 3-point shooting barrage by Olivia Crigler, who knocked down four bombs in the first quarter, and then fell behind 32-21 at halftime, as Mariah Frommeyer picked up two quick fouls and did not score in the first two frames.

 

We cut the Indians' lead to two at the end of the third at 39-37, only to watch their lead expand to 49-38 early in the fourth and it looked like lights out for the home team. Missed Free-throws by HC late in the game, and made free-throws by Brossart late in the contest set up a three-point 48-45 deficit with 46 ticks to play. By the 14.1 second mark we had cut it to one at 49-48, and had a shot to tie it at 50s at the end of regulation just rim out.

 

On the night, the Lady Stangs connected on 13 of 20 of their charity tosses, compared to the Tribe's 11 of 27.

 

While Coach Murphy can't be happy with his team's inability to get separation and put this one away, Coach Bundy has to be thrilled with the poise shown by his young charges that put them in position to win.

Thought it was a great game to watch. While I am an HC fan, I loved to see the fight in the mustangs! Not only did Crigler knock down 5 three's, I beleive she only shot 6, at the most 7. Indians performance at the ft line almost cost them the game. Mustangs assessment of the game is spot on.
