If You Were Hosting a BGP "End of the World" Party, What Music Would You Spin?

Featured Replies

Lawnboy got me to thinking about this when he commented in my Comet hitting the Earth thread. Let's say that days on Earth are numbered. A comet or asteroid is on course for a cataclysmic encounter with Earth. You decide that since the end is near, you might as well round up as many BGP'ers as you can and throw an "End of the World" themed party. Since we all love our music, especially the music we grew up with, what are some of the tunes you would play for us ???

I am in no way a fan of these guys, but this is a fitting song because of the title only.

Steel Panther is an American comedy rock/glam metal band from Los Angeles, California, mostly known for their profane and humorous lyrics, as well as their exaggerated on-stage personae that parody the stereotypical 1980s "glam metal" lifestyle.

Funny you should bring these guys up because I've been meaning to ask you if you've heard of them. I had planned to direct you to them without telling you that they were a parody act. :lol2: Little too late for that now.

They have a date at Bogarts coming up on Dec. 10th.

You going? :ylsuper:

More about Steel Panther:

Perhaps it's a parody but the dudes in the band must dig the 80's hair metal thing just enough to pull it off, and judging by the audience they don't seem to mind either that it's supposed to be a "joke" because they also love the 80's sound, and with SP they are getting it. They sing along like devoted fans, so the lines somehow seem to be blurred between real and make believe.
