Massey does ratings for several states, so it has to distinguish each school's name from the others. "Central" wouldn't suffice, for obvious reasons. Since the official name of the school is "Central High School Magnet Career Academy," Massey chose to go with "Cent Career."

I guess they could have used "Lou Central" ... but I guess that was too obvious.

I think the "magic number" is still having a great influence on these computer rankings (like Cantrell) this early in the season.

By the end of the year, they will be a much better indicator, IMO.

I like the website. One thing you have to like about Massey's ratings, is you can access the website, look at matchups and it does provide some insight into the system. Much more than you can say for other computer rankings.

No problem with the Massey rating's but what's up with CovCath at #18 and the team from Ft. Thomas having only the #26 hardest schedules... I understand that both CovCath and the team from Ft. Thomas play Oldham and Grant Counties, but don't they consider that both play Elder and CovCath plays the number 1 team in Ohio in Cin St. X plus Columbus Bishop Waterson... Gee in a different thread everyone agreed that Ohio football is much better than Kentucky football.......or do they not count the Ohio games?

Massey's strength of schedule rating includes only the games that each team has played to date. It also appears that Massey isn't rating Ohio teams for whatever reason.

If that is the case, Highlands' schedule rating is comprised solely of Dixie Heights and Conner. Likewise, CovCath's rating would consist of Boone County and Dixie Heights. Neither would put them in the top 10.
