mh2365 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Not to slight North Bullitt (we'll maybe to slight them LOL) this should be for 1st place in the district. Should be a great game. Although I'll be pulling for East obviously it should be a very close game. Hard to make a prediction but I'll go with 20-14 BE. Is it true that Central has never won at BE? Might be the last year we play for a while also.
h.s.sportsrbest Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 This game is flying under the radar a little, but this should be a GREAT game. Both teams have something to prove: a) Central that they are as good as many are saying and are a legitimate threat to play in Papa John's; b) Bullitt East that they can back up last year, minus a lot of contributors, and have another great year. Being in Bullitt County helps a lot, but I look for Central to win this one by 7-10 points and cement themselves as the 2nd best team in the West (behind B.G.).
mh2365 Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 Yeah I think the winner of this game will cement themselves behind BG. Although I would never count out Boyle County (even in a down year)
Charger1 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 mh2356, Central has never won at BE. BE has won the home games; 35-14, 27-6, and 27-15. BE leads the overall series 5-3. This game will be a slugfest, it always is when these 2 teams get together. Also, don't look for this game to go away with the realignment next year. If the schedules can be worked out, both sides are interested in keeping the series going. No sense in putting an end to a good thing. If you can make it to Mt. Washington Friday, get ready to see one of the most physical high school games you've witnessed. This game is always intense, it will be a playoff atmosphere.
Oxnard Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Central suffered a major loss in their big 36-0 victory over Valley last weekend when their leading offensive weapon, Tim Huguely, broke his arm late in the game. It will be interesting to see if the Yellowjackets other star back, Terrance Herriford, can carry the load by himself against Bullitt East. Leland Banks, who threw for three TD's against the Vikings, will also have to have another big game for Central to overcome the Bullitt East hex.

Should be a good game .... this was the only one I circled as a possible L before the season. Hopefully our pass coverage is solid enough ... passing teams always scare me when they play BE ... I'm just not sold on our pass coverage and the soft zones we tend to play. From what I've seen Central either throws the ball deep or very short and hope the recievers make plays. The definitely like to throw fly's after turnovers so we'll have to watch for that.
Charger1 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 A correction on the injury for Central, Huguley is fine. The player that was injured was #83 Stefan Robinson. He broke his arm on a reverse. I saw it on tape, he tried to break his fall and as he went to the ground all his body weight ended up on the arm. Best of luck to him in his recovery.
SLINK Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 These two teams always get after it. This game should be no exception.
mh2365 Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Newspaper is saying 28-17 Central .. can't imagine them winning by two scores.
Charger1 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 It could happen if BE turns the ball over. Central has thrived on turnovers so far this year.
